Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) – Specs & Technical PDFs
These detail drawings show how Ray-Bar fire rated IGUs are built and installed. Most units combine a fire rated lite and a second lite of glass as specified, separated by a 1/2" air space, with a stainless steel spacer filled with desiccant and a silicone perimeter seal. Side views, 3D cutaways and installation details are available for FireLite, WireLite NT, X-ray lead glass and Pyrostop fire/ballistic IGUs.
Ray-Bar Fire Rated Lead Lined Vision Frame Detail IGU
A section through a 1 3/4" Ray-Bar lead lined wood or metal door, showing:
- The 18 gauge steel lead lined vision frame with mitered corners, in gray primer or powder coated finish.
- The fire rated X-ray IGU between the corridor or control room side and the radiation source side, with fire glazing options of 3/16" FireLite-NT, 5/16" FireLite Plus or 1/4" WireLite-NT.
- Frame anchorage with metal screws.
Ray-Bar Fire Rated X-Ray Glass IGU Details
A section of the fire rated X-ray glass IGU, 7/8" and up in thickness depending on glass options. The fire rated side can be FireLite, FireLite-NT, FireLite Plus, WireLite-NT, Pyrostop, obscured or frosted FireLite, or Fireglass 20 (doors only). The X-ray side can be X-ray glass, X-ray safety glass, or frosted, laminated or mirrored X-ray glass.

- A side section of the FireLite IGU, 7/8" and up in thickness. Fire glass options include:
- 3/16" FireLite
- 3/16" FireLite-NT (safety film)

Ray-Bar FireLite Insulated Glass Units IGU 3D Detail

Ray-Bar WireLite-NT Insulated Glass Units - Detail Rated IGU Side View
A side section of the WireLite NT IGU, 1" and up in thickness, built with 1/4" WireLite-NT safety filmed for impact resistance. The standard wire pattern is Diamond, and frosted is also available.

Fire/Ballistic 120 Minute Fire Rated UL Level 3 Bullet Resistant Glass
A 3D view of the 2 7/16" thick Pilkington Pyrostop IGU, a very clear low iron, multi-laminated unit with clear intumescent interlayers. It is bullet resistant to UL 752 Level 3, fire rated up to 120 minutes in walls, and suitable for interior or exterior use.
Fire/Ballistic 120 Minute Fire Rated Detail U531 Detail
A numbered L-angle glazing detail (UL Design U531) for single exterior openings in 120 minute rated masonry. It covers:
- The 8" solid filled CMU wall.
- Hardwood setting blocks.
- Continuous steel angles, which can be trimmed in wood, aluminum or other non-combustible materials.
- Glass bite: 3/8" minimum, or 1" and up for bullet resistant glazing.
- Edge clearance, silicone sealant, closed cell PVC tape and concrete fastener spacing.
